The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley was formed by individuals coming together in the name of civil and human rights for those in the Santa Clara Valley and beyond.

The Association is eager to have new volunteers assist and we are eager to gain new supporters and sponsors.

Our Mission & Purpose

1. To celebrate the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,

2. To educate the public about prejudice, discrimination, and power inequities in major institutions in this country,

3. To facilitate the creation of a world of peace, and social justice, and

4. To advance Dr. Martin Luther King’s the philosophy of the use of non- violence to achieve Justice for all.

Our Mission

The purpose of this corporation is:

1 To perpetuate and advance the non violent philosophy and spirit of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley.

2 The elimination of prejudice, discrimination, racism, poverty, and violence from the social order, bringing about social change based upon love, peace, freedom, equality, and justice for all.

3 To observe, and encourage the recognition of Dr. King’s birthday and national holiday, in order to support the Martin L King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, Inc.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Association develops and implements activities that encourages community observance of the birthday of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. not as a day of rest, but as a day of remembrance and participatory activities to keep alive the Life, Legend and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Association also develops and collaborates with other individuals and organizations on the education of the community about value and role of social justice advocacy, prejudice reduction and sustainable community grass roots movements in the evolution of democracy in America

This corporation is a non profit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes.
